Google to provide advertisement technology to yahoo

well i am reading it quite late it is written on 6/12/2008 03:28:00 PM on google blog post,
google is going to share and provide some of its technology related to adsense for search and AdSense for content with the U.s and canadian based websites.

we all know why google is helping yahoo why ? we can easily see that google is having the industry best ad serving technology and yahoo will also like to join and have the same technology benefit fro it as ask.com and aol.com is having.

What google says why they are providing this ?

Consumers will see more relevant ads
this will help yahoo network publishers to be more efficient and will earn more out of it.Advertisers will also be benefited by having new ways to reach their target customers online more efficiently.

so what google says it is a merger or anything like that

well google says that it is not a merger with yahoo they are only providing technology to yahoo.
It depends on yahoo to use as much or as little technology they want.There is nothing like removing a perfect competitor from field.
Not bounding agreement for yahoo
Not for sharing google traffic with yahoo and this agreement will not increase Google’s share of search traffic.
Google will not increase any prices for advertisers.
