Search engine optimisation

No index treatement by search engines

- Google doesn’t show the page in any way
- Ask doesn’t show the page in any way
- MSN shows a url reference and Cached link, but no snippet. Clicking the cached link doesn’t return anything.
- Yahoo! shows a url reference and Cached link, but no snippet. Clicking on the cached link returns the cached page.

Dashes vs Underscores

Well matt cutts recommends using the dashes,Google doesn’t algorithmically penalize for dashes in the url. So if you are making a webpage then it is equally good for you to use the dash signs in between th words of the web page rather than the under scores.

Removing websites from google:

One can remove their websites from search engine results with help of http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals

Experience and reputation are important things to look before selecting a SEO vendor. The following questions can help determine the experience and proficiency of the vendors you consider.
1. How many years of SEO experience do you have?
2. How many years of SEM experience do you have?
3. What clients are on your customer list and can we contact them?
4. What kind of results have you achieved for past clients?
5. How soon can we expect to see results?

Defining SEM Services

Search Engine Marketing includes optimizing site, submitting your site to directories, getting your site indexed by search engines, managing pay-per-click campaigns, writing and distributing optimized press releases and articles, using blogs and RSS, marketing via an affiliate program, and much more.
SEM Services can be categorized into four areas:
1. Site analysis and optimization
2. Manual submission
3. Offsite development
4. Monthly reporting.

Why do we need SEM?
SEM provides you more customers as when someone goes to a search engine and tells it what they are trying to find, sometimes they are looking to buy the products or services that your company sells. If your business can connect with those who are looking to make such purchases, the chances are very high that they will buy from you. To do that, your company must rank in the best possible positions on the search results page

Your HTML coding has to be just so in order to rank highly on the engines. Your copy (text) also needs to include specific keywords a certain number of times in specific places or you might not be accepted. And if you are accepted, unless you follow all the and ; of SEO, you’ll likely not see the top 10… or even the top 50.

Tips for Link Building:
Offer a good product or service; notify your list about it, and watch the sales come in.

It seems the excitement about search engine optimization fades in and out from time to time. The more people talk about search engine optmisation (SEO) the more it seems to be the logical choice for bringing customers to your site. However, there are some points that I haven’t seen anyone else make as of yet about the effectiveness of SEO versus the effectiveness of building a responsive list. I think you’ll be surprised to see which one comes out on top.
