Cuil stands for Knowledge.They call themselves as the world’s biggest search engine. Cuil searches more pages on the Web than anyone else—three times as many as Google and ten times as many as Microsoft.They are on the one basic rule of crawling the content as much as they can.They want to index the whole Internet which is really good thought.
So why i am saying is cuil dead ?
well i was jsut looking at my feedburners data and found a robot named as Twiceler which is an experimental robot for Cuill.So i decided to check about cuil ranking on alexa with the small search engines like dogpile and the altavista but still it seems that cuil is far behind them…
Now i decided to go for compete.com and check whether there are any changes in data provided by alexa so here are the results.
we can see that on 07/2008 cuil overdrived altavista but then it dropped its rankings very much.
So, whats the deal with it. Is it good, bad. Should I block it.? The thing crawls my site
for hours, days weeks on end. I dont like it.
hi sickone cuil is just a robot of a search engine it is not going to harm your website nor your hosting resources let it crawl but keep an eye on other spy bots …. if you need more support ask me for assistance.Thanks for comment
