Apple has a positive response to the Chinese government under pressure, removing iPhone apps on the Dalai Lama and Rebiya Kadeer, the exiled leader of the Uighur minority in China to sell through the Chinese version of Dev Store.Another related Rebiya Kadeer, who like the Dalai Lama exiled minority leader denounced the authorities of China, is available in China, the App Store too. Obviously censorship comes after the carrier, China Unicom launched sales of the iPhone two months ago, so the content of regulatory approvals in the country needed the phone for the first time.

Other iPhone apps that might be seen as sensitive by Chinese authorities are still offered in the China App Store.App Kadeer was presented in App Stores in all countries, James Boldiston, the app developer, said in an e-mail. Google has been criticized for offering a censored version of its search engine in China Google.cn that some pornographic and politically sensitive search blocks. Google has just said that it must comply with local laws and regulations.
